European Plant Passport

  • Element A: botanical name of the species or taxon.
  • Element B: professional operator code (ROPVEG).
  • Element C: traceability code · Element D: country of origin.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about the passport

What is the European Plant Passport? +

It is the official document certifying that a plant meets EU health requirements to circulate within the territory. It is governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/2031 and its format, 2017/2313.

Is my nursery required to issue it? +

In general, any professional operator selling plants for planting must issue the passport. Fitoware lets you mark which species require it and automates its issuance.

What is the difference between the two editions? +

The regulation is the same. The GestioERP edition is the fast, affordable route for small and medium businesses; the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central edition is for companies already on that ERP, through the BC-AL² project by Slave Computer and Ionnavis.

Do I already need an ERP to use Fitoware? +

No. With the GestioERP edition you get the ERP and the passport in one package, ready to start without a corporate project.

What is the ROPVEG number? +

It is the Official Register number for plant Producers, Traders and Importers that identifies the professional operator. It forms element B of the passport and is set once.

Does your nursery need the plant passport?
